Review reflection in the room
Place polished and matt samples in the same position and inspect them from standing and seated viewpoints. Look for reflections from windows and lamps, and compare the finish beside furniture and joinery. Decide which appearance fits the room using those samples rather than a screen thumbnail.
A surface may look different when viewed head-on and at a shallow angle. Record the approved sample and exact finish so the purchasing team can ask about the same reference.
Check floor requirements separately
The look of a finish does not establish a slip-resistance result. TCNA identifies ANSI A326.3 as a method for measuring dynamic coefficient of friction, with use classifications and guidance. Ask which method and conditions apply to the proposed model, then have the project team assess the result for the location.
